Official Allegiant Movie Clips

I'll be honest... I haven't watched any of the trailers or commercials for Allegiant. Literally none of them. But I have watched these clips, and I can tell you that they get my excitement level back up. I really wasn't happy with what I was seeing back in November so I just needed a break from it all (also work has been crazy lately, but that's real life). But now I'm back, and these clips have renewed my hope. They're nowhere near as dramatized as the trailers and commercials are. The most recent clip features an interaction between Evelyn and Johanna and it piques my interest to no end. Now I'm excited to see more.

Ansel Elgort: Teen Vogue September Cover Star

September Cover Star Ansel Elgort on Movies, Music, and What He Would Do If He Was Taylor Swift

Posted by Teen Vogue (if it was a small blog I wouldn't copy/paste the whole thing, but seeing as it's Teen Vogue... I don't feel so bad). Photos at the end!!

Watch the behind the scenes video at the end as well!

"When I met Ansel, I didn't know he was a star. We were in Amsterdam, my hometown, at a Nicky Romero Protocol party about a year ago. The funny thing is, I've never seen one of his films because I barely watch movies. We had a crazy-fun night — then I posted a picture with him on Instagram, and the number of comments was ridiculous. I found out who he was a week later. What makes Ansel so cool is his easygoing personality. He's the most humble guy, and he's always true to himself. He is supertalented, but still the same person I met last October. And he produces his own music, which is a big deal in an industry where most people hand that job over to someone else. We send each other tracks, and we've played onstage together — but our friendship is about more than just music; he's like a brother to me. I think we've exchanged around 200 ugly selfies — I'll wake up and get one from him, and then I'll reply back with one. Ansel and I recently met up in New York and had a great conversation, the type you can't have with just anyone. We relate on so many levels — we're both young; we love music and life; and we each have great careers and are trying to balance them with our personal lives. It's nice to have a friend who really understands you. — Martin Garrix"

Insurgent Special Features REVIEW

Insurgent Blu-Ray

As it always seems to go, the best special features are only available on the 3D bluray, blu-ray, or the special editions made available from Target, Best Buy, or WalMart. I am only reviewing the basic 3D bluray, which is the same as what's on the bluray. Target has some additional footage that I won't be reviewing. WalMart's edition doesn't have any extra footage that isn't available on the regular version, though they are selling a pack that has both Divergent and Insurgent in it.

First I'll review each special feature, then I'll give you my overall impression of them all plus if I felt like anything could've been changed or added. You know me, I can't review something with just one or two sentences. If you're wanting to watch all these features without knowing what they're about or what's in them (and even quotes), then don't read ahead! Wait and watch for yourself first!! My overall review is that they're all excellent and totally worth it!

I'll be watching the Producers' commentary at a future time and I'll write a separate post for all the interesting facts I learn from it.

Hypable Exclusive: Shailene Explains the Truth Serum

Exclusively from Hypable.com:

In a brand new video snippet from the upcoming Insurgent DVD, actress Shailene Woodley discusses the truth serum sequence her character Tris goes through when she and Four (Theo James) arrive at Candor seeking refuge.

As Woodley puts it, the truth serum in the world of Divergent is a double edged sword.

“On one hand, it’s good because it allows someone to speak honestly and openly but on the other hand it’s forced from them and so that honesty doesn’t come with any sort of compassion, or any sort of pillow, and it’s hard to hear new information that hasn’t been infiltrated with a sense of kindness,” explains the actress. “I felt very distraught to have to watch Tris go through something that was so stripping.

Teen Exclusive: FourTris Feels from Insurgent Resurface

From Teen.com:

"In the 1+-minute’s worth of footage, Shailene Woodley begins to explain her character’s relationship with her love in the second film in the successful movie franchise, “The relationship with Four has been affected because Tris hasn’t had time to digest her own situations and so she isn’t able to be present with another person.”

“Four is trying to help her and contain her in a way, but there’s a distance that’s growing between them,” Theo James adds.

Insurgent will be available on 3D Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand on August 4. Until then, watch our exclusive behind-the-scenes clip here:"

EW Exclusive: Veronica Roth on Insurgent Sims

From Entertainment Weekly:

"The film arrives on Digital HD on July 21 (with Blu-ray and DVD to follow on Aug. 4), and in an exclusive clip from a behind-the-scenes featurette, Roth talks about how the simulation scenes opened her eyes to storytelling possibility and the power of cinema.

“In the movie, you can show [the series of simulations] in such great detail, and they can become so much bigger, and so much cooler, and so much stranger than you ever imagined,” she says. “So for me, that’s been the best part of seeing this movie get filmed, is just how huge and crazy the world has become.”"

Insurgent Blu-ray Giveaway!!!

I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of Insurgent from Lionsgate to review the special features (which is coming soon, I promise!) and they offered two blu-rays to give away!! I'm so excited to share them with you!

The winners have been emailed!!

Thank you to everyone who entered! The prizes have been mailed out!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Unfortunately, movies are coded by region, which means that it won't work on any equipment manufactured outside of North America. That means this giveaway is only open to US, Canada and Mexico.

(I'm so sorry, everyone else! I'll make sure to have another giveaway before too long that's open to everyone! Another factor is that I'm not currently working as I'm an employee of the school district, so that means I'm out for summer break right now- and not getting a paycheck. Shipping oddly shaped things (like posters, for example) internationally is not cheap! But I love you guys and when I am making money I enjoy giving back to everyone in what little way I can, so keep your eyes peeled in the future.)

All I need for you to enter is a valid email address, so I can respond to the winner! The entry option is simply to tell me who your favorite character was in Insurgent! Only one entry per person, each day (so you can enter twice), but your entry actually counts as five, so your name goes into the hat 5 times (10 times, if you enter both days).  NOTE: Entries only count in the raffle copter raffle below.

I'm not the biggest fan of giveaways in which you can enter as many times as you want... then some people who have nothing to do that day would have a way better chance of winning than say.. an adult who's stuck working a shift for 8 hours that day. I want this to be fair for everyone, so you get two chances. I wanted to start it midday Friday but rafflecopter won't let me start any time other than midnight unless I pay to upgrade my account.

Allegiant Deleted Scene

This is a deleted scene from Allegiant that was only available in the edition sold by Chapters bookstores in Canada. Thanks so much to the-divergent-faction.tumblr.com for sharing these photos for us all to enjoy! (Be sure to click on the images to enlarge them!)

This scene talks about them getting tattoos of their number of fears, and we've seen a photo from the set of Tris with a mysterious mark on her inner wrist, just like what's described in this very deleted scene... curiouser and curiouser!

Jai Courtney in "The Water Diviner"

Jai Courtney, who featured as Divergent's antagonist, Eric, is now starring in The Water Diviner directed by Russel Crowe.

The Water Diviner follows the true story of an Austrailian farmer travelling to Turkey after the Battle of Gallipoli to find his three sons. Jai Courtney plays Lieutenant Colonel Cyril Hughes, a member of the Imperial War Graves Unit and a man who played a key role in bringing some kind of order to the destruction of Gallipoli in the immediate years following the war.

"It was a bit of an intimidating first meeting,” he says. “He looked me in the eyes and said, ‘Can you ride a horse?’ So, like any actor would, I said yes. He saw right through me and said, ‘Don’t bullshit me’.” He laughs. “The great thing about Russell is he demands the same from himself as he does from everyone else around him. He’s an incredibly hard worker and a real stickler for authenticity. I knew it was going to be a tough job but he was just wonderful."

The Water Diviner is in cinemas now (15)
